Health Program - To guard against the risk of any future avian
disease outbreak, CDFA and USDA formed the Avian Health Program. The program
will consist of promoting disease recognition and prevention for backyard bird
owners, hobby bird owners, and the commercial avian industry.

State Vets - List of each States', plus
Guam, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virginia Islands' official veterinarian including
contact information. It is highly recommended that ALL State Veterinarians be
contacted prior to shipment to or through their states for anyone in a state
with a confirmed END outbreak.
CA Baby Bird Law
Formerly known as AB 202, this law prohibits the sale of unweaned baby parrots
by pet shops unless certain conditions are met. Furthermore, this law prevents
the sale of ALL unweaned baby parrots by anyone at bird marts or swap meets.
Anyone selling a baby parrot under the age of 1 year that was hand-fed at a bird
mart or swap meet must provide written documentation of the bird's weight at the
time of sale.
